COLLABORATION

OpenSurvey is a product of the collaborative effort between Western Reserve Systems Group, LLC (WRSG) and the Center for Disaster and Humanitarian Assistance Medicine (CDHAM). WRSG provided technology architecture and developmental expertise, while CDHAM provided funding and end-user review and feedback. Continued effort between these two groups allows OpenSurvey to implement additional dynamic functionality with each release.

WRSG

Western Reserve Systems Group was founded in 1999 to help companies enhance business processes and increase global presence with the integration of new technologies including Internet, E-commerce, Database, Handheld and Network Systems. WRSG provides professional technical development and business systems integration with over 10 years of experience.

As the client list has grown, so too has WRSG's expertise in business systems development, implementation and integration, large project management, and business technology consulting. WRSG's full spectrum of services range from dynamic Internet and E-commerce solutions (enabling smaller companies to gain a presence in the new global "E"-conomy) to large multi-national companies, government agencies and military organizations. CDHAM

The mission of the Center for Disaster and Humanitarian Assistance Medicine is exactly what its name implies - to be the focal point for medial aspects of disaster relief and humanitarian assistance. Other centers operate within the realm of humanitarian relief. However, they are focused on the broader issue of disaster management. By specializing in medicine and health-related topics worldwide, CDHAM complements the work of these centers, as well as many other organizations that are improving the provision of relief and international health care.

The origin of CDHAM pre-dates the current emphasis on military medical support or operations [other than war] by more than a decade. CDHAM is organized within the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine (MEM) at the Uniformed Services University of Health and Sciences (USUHS). The Department Chair, along with the Dean, the President, and key faculty at the University recognized early on the evolving role of military forces in shaping an uncertain world. CDHAM was formally established at USUHS by the Defense Appropriations Act of 1999 as the Department of Defense's focal point for medicine in non-traditional military operations and missions that have become more common in the new millennium.
